Les Clefs
d'Or Thailand Training Report

Venue: Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers
The meeting was
started 09:00 hours, the Honorary Secretary of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand
invite the President of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand to give an opening speech.
The President gave a brief objectives of the training and invited the
General Manager of Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers to give a welcome
speech.
Trainer, Khun Wanchai
Sangsawangchai, Learning & Development / Employee Relation Manager
introduced himself and welcomed all participants. We are 42 persons attended
this training.
After we have introduced ourselves,
our trainer informed a Ground Rules; Timing, coffee break, lunch, switched
off mobile phone and workshop.
All of us have
to form a team and named our team, which divided to 6 groups and we have
introduced ourselves one by one. After that a team has to give our expectation
to the trainer by presentation in front of the class.
Trainer introduced a topic of
the training and objectives:
Topic: Social Styles
Objectives: -To understand your social styles
-To understand Key Strengths, weaknesses and characteristics of each of
the Social Styles.
-To understand, respect and value differences.
-To learn how to flex your style to build relationship.
After the introduction of the topic and objectives, he also gave the definitions
of "Behavior", "Social Style" and "Personality".
Then our trainer
asked us to evaluate ourselves by using the "Self-Assessment Activity"
form to check which social styles we are.
After the completion
of our evaluation, trainer gave the knowledge of "Assertive Behavior"
and "Responsive Behavior"
-Assertive Behavior can be both verbal behavior and non-verbal behavior,
which divided to two types: Ask Assertive and Tell Assertive.
-Responsive Behavior can be both verbal behavior and non-verbal behavior,
which dived to two types emotes and controls.
Trainer gave us a time to discuss about the theory and reality that we
were faced while working in the hotel, which raised up the topic by Khun
Chaba-Chief Concierge from The Oriental Hotel.
After discussion
about Theory VS Reality, trainer gave knowledge about "Social Styles".
Social Styles.
1. Analytical: Serious, Exacting, Logical and Indecisive.
2. Driving: Independent, Formal, Practical and Dominating.
3. Amiable: Dependable, Supportive, Pliable and Open.
4. Expressive: Animated, Forceful, Opinionated and Impulsive.
We stopped the
serious thing at 12:00 hours and went for lunch at ETC, Restaurant, which
located at the lobby level of the hotel. The food so great and delicious,
the service is five-star and the selection of foods is incredible.
We were backed
to the training room at 13:15 hours, our trainer organized "Role
Play" for us to have us tried to identify the social styles of each
character that performed by our friends. There were 2-role play and the
first role-play was easy to identify, but the second role-play created
the confusion to the participants.
After role-play,
our trainer gave the summary of social styles:
1. There is no
best social style position
2. Your style is not your whole personality
3. All of these styles can cause tension for others
4. Don't expect the other person to go out of his or her way to accommodate
you. You must decide what you are going to do to meet the needs of others
and make the relationship mutually productive.
Trainer thanked
all participants and ended the training.
The Honorary Secretary
invited Director of Human Resources to present a certificate to all participants
together with the President of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand.
After certificate
presentation, we went to "The Star" the newest dinner cruise
operated by Chaophraya Cruise. The Star can accommodate approximately
60 persons and good to recommend for a private function. The condition
of The Star is new looking with flat TV in air-conditioned room. The band
performed on the upper deck with opened air seating area. Please visit
"The Star" if you have time and we ensure that you will have
the everlasting nice memory.
